OHIW programs include the Women, Infants and Children Nutrition Program (WIC); Violence and Injury Prevention Program including overdose prevention; Children with Medical Handicaps Program (CMH); Creating Healthy Communities; Chronic Disease; Cancer Program and Ohio Cancer Incidence Surveillance System; HIV/STD Prevention; Hepatitis, HIV, and STD Surveillance; HIV Care Services; Second Chance Trust Fund; Wishes for Sick Children Program. The Office seeks to utilize data-informed strategies to improve the health of Ohioans; assure access to nutrition services, including breastfeeding education and support, to Women, Infants and Children, assure access and availability to high-quality, interdisciplinary clinical health services for persons with special health care needs; provide case management and access to coverage for low-income Ohioans living with HIV/AIDS; provide breast and cervical cancer screenings to low-income women; use evidence-based strategies to prevent chronic disease, STDs and Hepatitis.
