Lindsay’s Law: Protecting Youth Athletes From Sudden Cardiac Arrest
Lindsay’s Law (Ohio Revised Code Ohio Revised Code 3313.5310, 3707.58 and 3707.59) requires Ohio youth sports coaches to annually complete annual training on sudden cardiac arrest and requires youth athletes and their parents/guardians to review materials about the warning signs of sudden cardiac arrest. It also requires youth athletes at increased risk of sudden cardiac arrest to be cleared by a physician before playing and requires coaches to remove youth who faint from athletic activity. Additional information and materials on complying with the law can be found at the Ohio Department of Health’s Lindsay’s Law webpage.
